I ordered steamy bao bun with pork & pad kra pao (one of my fav thai dish) , it was good , bao was alright, i wouldn’t order it again. Pad kra pao is supposed to be minced meat (pork or chicken) but it was like small pieces not minced. Dish supposed to be hot & it was spicy so thats good. They have small garden outside, they probably grow their own herbs which is nice. The only thing i’d be careful about is they have a checkout fee on a card. Parking is right outside. Limited spots. Fast service.

Very nice and attentive service from staff. Beautiful and simple decor. The papaya salad was my favorite dish from what was ordered. The dumplings were very bland, wouldn't recommend. The Chicken Satay lunch was okay, classic flavors, sauce was very watery, wish the chicken and rice would have been served separately as the rice was soaked in sauce. The Ginger Chicken was very light in flavor (the server mentioned it would be), but nonetheless good, too. Another dish that i would have loved to have rice served in side. The gastronomic experience was a 5/10.

I recently dined at The Smiling Elephant in Nashville, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting and the place was spotless. Our waiter was exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the menu. He provided great recommendations, making us feel confident in our choices. We started with the curry mussels, which were simply amazing. The rich, flavorful broth complemented the perfectly cooked mussels. For our main courses, we split two dishes, both of which were excellent. The flavors were authentic, and the presentation was delightful. To top off our meal, we indulged in the mango sticky rice for dessert, which was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Parking was hassle-free, thanks to their free parking lot, making the overall experience even more convenient. Having visited many Thai restaurants, I can confidently say that The Smiling Elephant stands out as a delicious and memorable spot. Despite reading some mixed reviews, my visit was overwhelmingly positive. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning. If you’re looking for great Thai food in Nashville, The Smiling Elephant is a must-visit.

Best Thai food in Nashville! Their pad Thai isn’t the overly sweet, Americanized version you might be used to—this is the real deal. It’s bold, balanced, and packed with flavor that tastes straight out of Thailand. Pro tip: order it with the green bean noodles. Trust me. It gives the dish an amazing texture and makes it feel even lighter and more vibrant. Everything from the presentation to the service feels thoughtful and intentional. Smiling Elephant lives up to the name—it’ll leave you full, happy, and planning your next visit before you’ve even paid the bill.

The smiling elephant property looks like a nice small cozy house by the side of the road. The food at this place is on point. They have a curry of the day which tends to be the best per their recommendation. The massaman curry, mango sticky rice, coconut custard and the rolls all were great. Food came out surprisingly quickly. Fried rice here is pretty good as well. It is a great place if you are craving Thai food.

Exactly what you want when you go for Thai. I can’t speak to actual authenticity as I don’t really know, but it was fantastic. The Tom Yum was killer! You feel like you are at a friends home, not a restaurant, in the best way.
